Volunteer Opportunites

Volunteers play a critical role at Hogar.  With more than 300 volunteers across the various departments and sites, volunteers outnumber Hogar employees 20 to 1.  We simply could not serve thousands of immigrants and their families each year were it not for the generosity and dedication of our volunteers.

They teach English, complete client intakes, prepare applicants for the US citizenship interview and exam, and provide a compassionate ear for our clients and students.

Hogar uses a website called Wix to facilitate volunteer and staff communication. After each class teachers are required to post a class report so that the next teacher can pick up where they left off. Staff will train you on how to use the website.
